Reports To: Building Principal (in collaboration with Curriculum/Technology staff)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Supports the school’s library/media center while leading creative and innovative communication, storytelling, and student engagement efforts. This role blends paraprofessional student support with library services, multimedia design, and staff technology support—serving as a key driver of how the school communicates, celebrates, and connects. This role is ideal for someone who is not just supportive, but imaginative—someone who sees opportunities to improve communication, highlight students, and bring energy to the school environment through media and innovation.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit (or ability to obtain)
  • Meets all state and federal employment requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace
  • Experience with Canva or similar design/multimedia tools preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and willingness to try new ideas

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Library & Media Center Support
    • Maintain an organized, welcoming, and student-centered media space
    • Support circulation, inventory, and access to resources
    • Assist in creating engaging, visually appealing displays and experiences that promote reading and media literacy
  • Student Instructional Support
    • Work with individuals and small groups to support research and digital literacy
    • Help students create and present content using multimedia tools
    • Encourage student voice through media, design, and storytelling opportunities
  • Creative Media & School Communications (Core Focus)
    • Design and deliver engaging, creative school communications that go beyond basic announcements
    • Maintain and enhance:
    • School website content and storytelling
    • Library calendar and promotional materials
    • Digital displays/TV monitors with dynamic, student-centered content
  • Use tools such as Canva to create high-quality graphics, videos, and visual messaging.
  • Capture and showcase student life, achievements, and school culture in innovative ways.
  • Continuously seek new ideas to improve how the school communicates and celebrates success.
  • Technology Support for Staff (New Teacher Focus)
    • Provide onboarding and ongoing support for new teachers with school technology
    • Help staff confidently use Google tools, classroom tech, and communication platforms
    • Serve as a go-to resource for quick tech support and creative instructional ideas
    • Develop simple guides and model effective technology use
  • Innovation & School Culture
    • Actively bring new ideas to improve student engagement, communication, and school culture.
    • Experiment with new media formats (video, digital campaigns, student features, etc.).
    • Support initiatives that strengthen school identity and pride.
    • Collaborate with staff and students to implement creative projects
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Work closely with teachers and administrators to support instructional and communication goals.
    • Assist with events, promotions, and school-wide initiatives.
    • Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and a solutions-oriented mindset
